HIV or Human Immunodeficiency Virus is an illness that affects your bodies immune system. This Virus attacks T4 cells in the body, lowering its count to about 200 per cubic millimeter of blood. Although HIV is more commonly transmitted via unprotected sexual encounters with an infected partner, it could also be transmitted through sharing of needles with an infected person, usually in taking drugs, getting a tattoo, and body piercing.
The common early signs of an HIV infection are usually in the form of flu-like symptoms such as chronic headaches, rash, sudden weight loss, fevers, muscle aches, and the swelling of lymph nods and glands. Although these symptoms have usually been found with patients early in the course of their infection, most patients are asymptomatic, and may only reflect signs of a full-blown AIDS infection eight to ten years after acquiring the virus.
In extreme cases, signs of being infected may involve more distressing symptoms such as the appearance of purplish lesions inside the mouth of on the skin, chronic diarrhea for a month or more, body rashes, easy bruising, night sweats, and bouts of extreme exhaustion.
In most cases, early treatment may delay the virus from progressing into full-blown AIDS. The progression may be suppressed by up to 10 to 15 years. As of now, there is no known cure for HIV and AIDS.

Elders say sex is very sacred that only two people who love each other do it, but at present sex is seen as a game. Anyone could do it with any person. The usual argument of the people who engage in pre-marital sex is "we love each other that is why we did it," but they are not yet married, so that does not excuse them. Due to having sex with many different partners, a person could acquire a sexually transmitted disease like HIV.
When a person gets HIV, he has an illness that is like the flu. He usually has fever, lymph nodes that are swollen, diarrhea, mouth ulcers, headache, and sore throat. Furthermore, he feels too much fatigue. But it does not necessarily mean that a person has an HIV if he experiences these symptoms, because they might be the cause of another illness. The best thing for that person to do is to undergo HIV test.
Other signs that usually occur in women are infections of yeast in the vagina, gonorrhea, inflammation of pelvic area, infection on the organs of reproduction, absence of menstrual periods, and excessive bleeding.

I have heard of so many cases wherein people thought that they were suffering from mental illnesses or some other kind of sickness, little did they know that what they had were signs of HIV/AIDS infection. Many HIV infected people may feel that they are in an "altered state of consciousness", some think that they were schizophrenic, when they had personality changes, extreme mood swings, and mental deterioration, but all of these are symptoms of HIV/AIDS.
There's also the lack in energy and enthusiasm, these shouldn't be taken forgranted. And there's also the sudden weight loss, and if you're bruising easily, and the swelling is continuous, it's a sign of HIV/AIDS. Now, if you think you have this, don't be scared, it can be prevented, act on it and fast, you have to know your proper health information.

One of the symptoms that signal the onset of AIDS is a rare lung disease known as Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia, also refered by it's older name Pneumocystis carinii Pneumonia (PCP). PCP is a disease casued by a fungal organism and is the major killer of HIV-infected people.
A person with a healthy immune system can control the fungus however, a weakened immune system will succumb to disease. Since HIV deteriorates the immune system, a patient with PCP may be the first clue to AIDS...

Of course, these symptoms does not always happen to all women infected with HIV, some women doesn't show symptoms at all. There are cases wherein the virus attacks not just the genital area, but the whole body as well. So, have a regular check-up to ensure your health and safety.

HIV is a serious and deadly disease, and the symptoms could not appear in a victim until after a number of years. What are other warning indications that we could consider to know if a person has an HIV?
Aside from the colds, weariness, and swollen body parts, an HIV victim could also experience diarrhea, weight loss and mental disorders such as depression and memory deficiency. If you or someone you know have these conditions, it is best to consult an HIV expert and undergo testing.

Generally, HIV has no standard symptom for the individuals infected by the virus. Most individuals with HIV act and feel as normal as any other individual although their immune systems is slowly being damaged. So even if a person feels he or she is healthy, it still possible that he or she could be infected by HIV.
However, as the immune system of the person infected becomes weak, several opportunistic illnesses and infections occurs. Such opportunistic infections are tumors, cancers, and nervous system illnesses. This is the reason that it is best to undergo an HIV test so people will know the measures that they should do to reduce the damage or infection that the virus would cause.
