Both men and women may use a condom for protection. Yes, there is also a condom for female. It is a disposable contraceptive that can protect the woman from any sexually transmitted disease, like HIV, or from possible pregnancy. It's an effective device that woman can use to prevent the transfer of a virus, bad bacteria, germs, or sperms between partners. Female condoms have been available in Europe markets since early 90's. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved it in year 1993. Today, it's also available in other countries. It carries different names, like FC Female Condom, Dominique, Care, or Reality.
It's made of polyurethane. This material is thin, yet very strong to give protection for the user. It is 40% stronger than the latex that is used for a male condom. That is why it cannot be easily ripped or cut while being used. More so, the condom is a soft sheath. One end is open, while the other end is closed. It is designed with 2 soft and flexible rings. These rings can protect the user from virus transmission. With a female condom, woman can assure that she is protected even if her partner is not using a condom. However, it's not available in some countries, thus, not all ladies can avail it.

AIDS has been one of the most alarming causes of mortality. Until this time, no modern medicine can cure AIDS or remove the virus in the body. Unfortunately, even children can catch HIV through parents. This is why a lot of support groups and health concerned organizations are formulating some programs to prevent the spread of the virus, and to help HIV/AIDS infected individuals to manage their condition.
Several safe sex advocates promote the use of condoms as the best way to stop the spread. However, aside from using a powerful condom, it's also helpful for a HIV infected person not to engage into sexual activity at all. Abstinence can also be a key to prevention. Although this is another subject for debate, because people by nature have sexual needs, abstinence from sex can help the HIV negative partner to be protected.
As a matter of fact, a large percentage of HIV infected people in US have chosen not to have sex or become sexually inactive. One particular survey in 1998 have shown that some people with HIV were determined to be inactive in sex. They decided to protect their loved ones through abstinence.

In this modern times, several teenagers are suffering from sexually transmitted diseases, and other juvenile problems. Actually, a significant percentage of total HIV/AIDS victims rate belongs to HIV infected teenagers. One of the many reasons this problem has become a sore of society is because most parents are busy with their careers. Hence, they can no longer sustain the emotional, social, and spiritual needs of their teenagers.
For many young people, engaging into sexual activities is one of their adventures. It's because many channels, from magazines to internet, are giving pornographic materials that entice the youngsters to try to have sexual adventure. However, there's still a way to save the young people from the possible consequences of early sexual activity. Deborah Hatchell has published her book entitled What Smart Teenagers Know. This will definitely help mothers to provide sex education, as well as STD information to their young-minded people. The book will help the reader to understand what is relationship all about; and to have safer sex with condoms. It's advisable that teenagers read this book for a deeper meaning for sexual relationship.

One of the causes of sexually transmitted diseases is the active sexual activity. Most victims of HIV/AIDS got the virus through a sexual intercourse. But, in the endless quests of health care organizations, medical practitioners, and health and nutrition manufacturers, there are several safe-sex tips that were recommended to prevent the spread of STDs. One of these is the use of condoms during sex.
Condom producers, engineers, and designers spend countless hours to develop their condom products. And several brands of condoms are available today to give ultimate protection from STDs, as well as to promote birth control. Maxpro Condoms were designed for ultimate protection and safer sex. It passed the stringent conditions and strict guidelines of ISO 9001. Maxpro, a lubricated latex condom, is made for stronger protection.
A latex condom is more effective than an animal skin condom to prevent the STDs to spread. Latex condoms give an effective barrier that blocks the transmission of viruses, germs, and bacteria. When used properly, condoms work well. They reduce the risks of STD transmission. So, for safer sex, it is wise to use condoms.

One effective way to protect ourselves from sexually transmitted diseases is to refrain from having unprotected sexual activities. Such activities include early sex and multiple sex partners. People who had earlier sex activities are most likely the ones with multiple sex partners. Some health experts say these people are more susceptible to sex-related diseases.
Another finding analyzed by health experts when it comes to more than one sex mates is that youngsters tend to indulge in other behaviors such as drinking, fighting, smoking, and using prohibited drugs. These activities might affect the proper functions of the different aspects of human beings. As a result, aside from the disease itself, these people are prone to experience sorts of psychological problems.
Therefore, it is but just essential and proper to provide sufficient awareness on matters like these. People should be well-informed about the ill effects of these activities especially unprotected sexual contacts. Sex education in schools and communities should be intensified in order to protect the people and prevent the occurrence of some future problems related to these issues. These issues must be properly addressed and resolved at once.

In America, many teenagers engage in premarital and unsafe sex under the influence of alcohol and drugs. I, for one, know a couple of people who had engaged in quick casual sex because they were too intoxicated to prevent it. It is inevitable in night clubs or underground parties to have drug sessions. In fact, many HIV/AIDS carriers acquired their virus from unprotected sex while they were intoxicated.
The best way to steer clear of the HIV/AIDS virus and any other sexually-transmitted diseases is to stay away from drugs, alcohol, and unsafe sex, if you do not know the people you are with. I am not saying that it's still safe to have unprotected sex with the people you know, it's not. Also, if you think that drugs and alcohol are the best way to enhance your sex drive and sexual performance, well, they're also not the solution. In fact, drugs and alcohol would decrease your sexual drive since you are too intoxicated to feel hyped and motivated. You should also remember that the word "NO" means no. You can say no to the people who are offering you drugs or alcohol. This stuff would only make you high for a day, a night. Would you sacrifice one night of partying for a whole life of suffering? Think wisely and think of your future.

They say that until a cure for HIV and AIDS has been discovered, the only real way to fight this world wide epidemic is to practice safe sex. Let’s face it; teenagers today are getting more and more sexually active and AIDS does not discriminate victims. Parents blame the media for overselling and glorifying sex, while the media responds that parents should play a bigger role in educating their children regarding sex. In my lifetime, I’ve encountered several people that suggest that sex education should be taught in school. Of course not everyone is in favor of this idea, especially the more conservative parents.
I for one greatly favor this motion. I think that if we truly want to stop the epidemic of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, we must educate the youth about the perils that come with engaging in unprotected pre-marital sexual intercourse. Some people think that this could only provoke the youth to engage in sexual activities; listen, the keyword here is EDUCATION, not corruption. The education department, the media and especially the parents should be more involved with the dissemination of safe sex education. Remember that prevention is better than cure.

I know, I know. When you are in a very heated situation, it is easy to forget all the other things that you should consider before sleeping with somebody. But, the truth is, cases of casual sex are so rampant especially in these times. Casual sex without the necessary protection contributes to unhealthy living and the spread of sexually-transmitted diseases or worse, deadly diseases like AIDS or HIV.
So, what are the factors you must bear in mind before getting it on with your partner? First and foremost, the sexual history of your partner matters a lot. Did he or she become involved with someone who is not fond of using condoms or any other contraceptives? Did he or she have unsafe sex with a person who had multiple partners in bed? These are a couple of questions that you could ask to determine your partner's background in safe sex.
The second important thing to take into account is the person's sexual habits. Does your partner stick to one person when it comes to sexual relations? Does your partner sleep with professional prostitutes? Is your partner used to unprotected oral, vaginal, or anal sex? In addition, your partner's gender preference may also be a consideration. Gays are perceived to be keen on having multiple sexual partners, thus they may be more at risk with HIV.

Oral-anal sex has gain popularity, especially for those who want to explore new ways of sexual enjoyment. This kind of sexual activity can be classified under oral sex and basically involves the sucking or licking of the anus. The downside is this can increase one's susceptibility to diseases such as HIV.
How can there be risks? Since HIV is transmitted through blood or body fluids, the infected saliva or blood could come in contact with the opening or lining of the anus. Another probably exposure to the disease could be caused by mouth contact with bloody feces or anal sores and cuts.

Although condoms do not guarantee one hundred percent protection against sexually transmitted disease, statistics have shown that the use of condoms have dramatically decreased the risk of disease transfer. There is certainly nothing wrong about wearing the rubber, and yet some people, especially males, refuse to use one.
When this happens, open communication is important. Insist and let him know that you are concerned on both your health and lives. He may not get the point, but on the other hand, if all efforts were already exhausted, there is no reason why you should stay in the relationship.

If a person is spent on using a condom, another alternative that can be considered while having oral sex are dental dams. These latex squares are similar to a condom, hence these also provide the same protective function.
Dental dams, which are available in various colors and flavors, are stretchable during sex to prevent the exchange of body secretions and at the same time, the transfer of possible disease. The downside of using dental dams is that they may be hard to keep in place so put some lubricant on the side of genital to secure the material.

One of the most effective ways of preventing HIV transmission in sexual intercourse is through safe sex by using latex condoms. However, having a new partner must also raise awareness on both parts for the female and the male. If they plan to have sexual intercourse even without using protection, both should have an STD checkup.
Be reminded that sexually transmitted diseases do not just show immediate symptoms; it takes time depending on your body. Also, if you, for example, do not have just one sexual partner, it's time to reduce the number of sexual partners that you have. Remember, it's better to have a healthy body rather than an infected one.

Protection is the key to avoid sexually transmitted diseases such as the HIV AIDS virus. As you may know, HIV causes millions of people to die every year. For us to reduce the cases of deaths, we have to be safe.
Sexual intercourse is one way of transmitting HIV. It should be done with safety and the most effective way to avoid HIV is to use condoms. That way, there will be a barrier for the fluids that may carry the HIV virus. Let's not risk our lives, our bodies, and our health for something that we are not sure of. Be safe, use protection.
